Chambers Street in Princeton, N.J. (a side street off the main drag in town) may be a few steps off the beaten path, but those few steps are well worth taking for two tucked-away treasures that await. The first, Toggle Home, is the monogram paradise of owner Kate Armstrong Johnstone-Butcher. After selling her customized wares and goods on-line, at trunk shows, and pop-up shops, Kate just celebrated the grand opening of her storefront in the heart of Princeton. Bedding, furniture, clothes, jewelry, totes—the monogram possibilities are endless at Toggle Home. The variety of ideas and options in this one-stop-shop are astounding, all selected by Kate with her unique and chic eye towards personalization. An A-LIST favorite (though very hard to choose!) is the tortoise-shell leucite clutch monogrammed in gold, and the navy leather travel backgammon set with silver monogram. Welcome Toggle Home! PINS AND NEEDLES
Just next door is Pins and Needles, the Princeton mainstay for lovers of all things knitting and needlepoint. Kathleen Gittleman opened her doors in 2001, and every nook and cranny of this two-floor shop is filled with delightful projects to be stitched or knit with love. The supplies are varied and fabulously curated. Choosing just one project may be the hardest part! Pins and Needles is a full service shop with a wide array of knitting and needlepoint classes offered (private classes too!), a stocked schedule of trunk shows, and if you can’t visit in person there is a super on-line store as well. 8 Chambers Street – Princeton, N.J.
